6 Step Process

The web development process follows six distinct steps which are also covered in our initial discovery call. Feel free to familiarize yourself with these steps and bring questions/ideas to our initial meeting.

 

1 Planning

Every project begins in the planning phase. After you’ve initially reached out with your budget and website idea, we start taking steps to bring your vision to life.

  • Style of the website: what are some websites that have inspired you?

  • When someone comes to your website, what do you want them to do? Make a purchase? Subscribe? Schedule a class?

  • What does success look like to you?

 

2 Design

In this phase, we create mockups, sitemaps, wireframes, and prototypes based on earlier discussions. You get a chance to see your website and approve the final design before building begins.

 

3 Build

In this phase, we begin the process of building your app or website. We place a heavy emphasis on adhering to the technical and design specifications laid out in the planning phase. You get to choose how often you want to see updates (daily, weekly, etc.) as the website comes together.

 

4 Test & Train

Final testing is performed on all sites and apps prior to final launch. I simulate heavy stress, test various browsers, operating systems, and devices with the site or app to be sure that it is responsive and performs well across all platforms. I also perform training with your staff, so that they will be able to easily make minor adjustments or publish new content once your site or app is live.

 

5 Launch

The live launch of your site or app can be a stressful period. Even with thorough testing throughout development, unforeseen challenges can arise. That's why Carver Webdev provides full monitoring and support during the launch period.

6 Support

Once your site launches successfully, you'll still require a technical partner to support ongoing needs. Carver Webdev offers a wide variety of support services for completed projects, including maintenance and optimization.

  • No, every step in the design process is critical to ensuring quality is maintained from start to finish and that clients are satisfied with the final product.

  • Yes, depending on the scale of the change required it could require writing and signing a new development contract.

    If you decide to not move forward with the website at any point, the remaining portion of the payment is refunded in full. (e.g. You have paid 50% and the project is 40% complete when you decide to cancel: 10% of the deposit will be refunded.)

  • After the initial discovery call where we discuss your website, budget, and timeframe, a proposal is sent over within a week and a 50% deposit is required after signing.

    Once the website is launched and all revisions are complete, ownership of the website is transferred to you after final payment.

  • Yes, the website is yours after final payment. Ownership of the design remains with Carver Webdev and the design is being licensed to you. Your website may be displayed on the Carver Webdev portfolio page. You can request to not have your website displayed if you choose.

  • Yes, just mention it any time during the development process or after and we can set up an account for you.
